Halo 2  is a  video game first-person shooter  developed by  Bungie Studios . It is the second installment in the franchise  Halo  and the continuation of the successful  Halo: Combat Evolved . On May 31, 2007 a ​​version of the game was released  Microsoft Windows , which was developed by a team of designers from  Microsoft Game Studios  called "Hired Gun" ("murderer for hire").  Halo 2  features a new  game engine  and using a  physics engine Havok . It incorporates more weapons, vehicles, and new multiplayer maps compared to its predecessor. The player can alternatively assume the roles of  Master Chief  and the alien  Arbiter  in a conflict happened in the XXVI century between human factions of  United Nations Space Command  (UNSC) and the group of alien  Covenant .
